Flash Builder 4 Feature – Project Themes

In case you are one of those people that doesn’t like to “click around” in your new Flash Builder 4 toy, let me help by pointing you out to a small section that you may not have clicked to. The “Appearance” tab.

From the “Appearance” tab you can quickly change your global applications styles and more importantly – set your application theme.

The default theme is the “Spark” theme provided to you by Adobe. Within the themes selection there are many options provided by Adobe, and wonderfully enough you can import other themes very simply into Flash Builder 4. Now changing your application’s appearance is easier than ever.

My copy of Flash Builder 4 never seems to get the themes working. I will select a theme and press ‘ok,’ but nothing. It doesn’t update to the new theme. Even if I save, or even if I restart Flash Builder, it only displays the original ‘Spark’ theme, though it says that it’s the other theme. It’s somewhat frustrating…

Odd, you can always change the theme in the compiler options. That would be the sure fire way to do it.
